Steven Docherty

• 5 years in The Royal Core of Transport and a successful Off Road driver made Steve an asset to our 2009 volunteer crew, taking any mechanical issues in his stride.
• Looking forward to the ‘once in a life time’ experience that would take him 7500miles overland, through the Western Sahara and beyond, Steve’s relaxed, calm and generous qualities led him to become a great character within the crew and a Charity Champion for Village by Village. ‘Liked by the Locals and loved by us all!’
• 2010 Steve plans to help dig an inspection pit for vehicle maintenance and servicing, service Village by Villages vehicles (already on site in Ghana), deliver a Sankey Trailer and change last years vehicle from Right to Left hand drive. Committed to his friendship with Neil Kerfoot (2009 crew & CEO of Village by Village) and with much respect for the positive impact that Neil’s projects have and continue to make, Steve volunteers his time and skills.
• The youngest of his 5 children, proud daughter Niamh has supported her father and the team at Land Rover and Outdoor shows through the year and would love the opportunity one day to join her father at Village by Village, but for now wears her ‘Helping Hands to Africa’ t-shirt with pride, encourages donations to a worthy cause and remains an inspiration to many.
